Should you choose to participate in the Pilot Online Exam, you agree to and understand the following terms and conditions:

1. Scope of Pilot Project

  1. This pilot project replaces the taking of a paper-based exam at a pre-arranged venue.
  2. This pilot project is entirely voluntary and at no additional charge
  3. This pilot project is available to Students that were previously registered for exams that have not yet been written.
  4. Students now agree to write these exams on these new dates:
    a. Bookkeeping to Trial Balance on 7 July 2020 at 9:00
    b. Computerised Bookkeeping on 9 July 2020 at 9:00
    c. Business Literacy on 28 2020 July at 9:00
  5. The pilot project is limited to entries per session.  Bookings will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Exam Booking

  1. Eligible Distance students will receive "booking vouchers" which can be used to participate in the project. Other students will be booked by their colleges.
  2. Distance Students will volunteer by booking for the pilot exam dates using the "booking vouchers", which are:
    a. only for the subject that was previously booked.
    b. cannot be redeemed for another exam date,
    c. cannot be transferred or used by a different student
  3. Once a booking is made, it is final, and no changes or cancellations will be accepted.  If a student does not complete their PoE or the online exam, they will need to re-enter for the subject with full payment for a later date.
  4. The students will make bookings on the student portal.  If the booking is successful, the student will be immediately enrolled onto a new PoE on MACCI and will need to complete certain declarations to show consent to the rules of the pilot.     
  5. Students will be given the option of transferring their previous test results from their old PoE.

3. Exam Security

There will be additional security requirements to ensure exam authenticity. If these are not completed, students will not be granted access to the exam.

  1. Before the exam, every student will be required to upload a recent photo holding their identity card/book. 
  2. Students need to be aware of and accept that proctoring methods have been incorporated into the PoE and the online exam to detect irregular activities. 
  3. Students need to agree that irregularities identified by the proctoring methods will be grounds for academic disciplinary as per ICB's exam policy.
  4. Students need to agree and understand that this exam is protected by copyright law. Recording in any form, including screenshots of any part of the PoE or the exam, is prohibited.  Any such acts could lead to expulsion from the ICB and from registering for future courses (or writing any exams) and notification to the relevant authorities.
  5. Students also need to agree and understand that the recording of the questions asked and/or sharing these with anyone is seen as cheating and may result in disqualification from the programme.

4. Technical Considerations

  1. The exam can be taken at home, office or college, but the student must take the responsibility to ensure that unforeseen disruptions will not adversely impact them. 
  2. Students agree to have a stable internet connection
  3. Students agree that they have adequate mobile data to allow for completion of the exam
  4. Students agree that they have gone through the technology requirement checklist and have the listed requirements available at their disposal before opting in to complete the online exam.

  5.  It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all the above listed specified technical and connection requirements are met. Should a student still be disrupted, they may only apply for mitigation for circumstances beyond the scope of the technical specifications.  
  6. Technical difficulties experienced during the exam will need to be reported in the post-exam declaration.
  7. Students who have not made use of the opportunity to report any issues and submitted feedback by midnight on the day of the exam, will not have any grounds for a remark/rewrite based on technical issues.

5. Preparations and Actions for Exam Day

  1. The PoE for this Pilot Project has new sections that all need to be completed before Exam Day.  If these sections are not completed, the exam will not unlock on exam day, and the exam entry will be forfeited.  Some of these include:
    a. An upload of your completed assignment book
    b. The completion of a practice exam which will be made available to you before the actual exam.
    c. Certain additional compulsory declarations
  2. Students will be required to log-in 30 minutes before the exam start time.
  3. The exam is 3½  hours - including reading time
  4. Any issues, disputes or complaints, must be submitted by way of completing the survey at the end of the online exam before midnight on the day of the exam. This will advise the ICB of any issues that may have been present during the exam.  After this period, no further representations will be considered.
