Voluntary postponements

Up until about 3 weeks before each exam, you are allowed to apply for a voluntary postponement, for which there is a fee per subject. All updated fees can be found on the website https://www.icb.org.za/exam-fees/. The Postponement cut off dates are on the timetable.

If you apply before this deadline, you can postpone your assessment by paying the postponement fee. This is deemed a voluntary postponement, and could be due to personal reasons, not being fully prepared yet, or for any other reason.  This is a personal decision and the ICB does not need to review.

If you are a distance students, you can complete a paid postponement on the learner portal in the "View my exams tab". If you are a college student, you need to ask your college to postpone your exam for you.

NB:

  • Each exam entry may only be postponed once!
  • You will automatically be entered for the next exam sitting.
  • Even if you have medical grounds for not attending the "postponed" exam, you will forfeit the entry.

See the Exam Timetables on https://www.icb.org.za/exam-timetables-and-venues/ for the postponement cut-off dates.
